Hazbin Hotel's Creator Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Predictions — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been widespread.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of personalities living within the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator commented earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That might mean viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a couple people make a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
